 Heute zeige ich Euch eine Piratenkarte.

Am Anfang der Karte stand die neue Fass-Stanze von Create a Smile. Die ist super vielseitig, ich wollte sie aber auf meiner ersten Karte damit mit Goldmünzen füllen. Und so kam eins zum anderen....

Today I am sharing a pirate card with you.

The whole card started with the new barrel die by Create a Smile. It's pretty versatile but I knew, that I wanted to fill it with gold coins on the first card I made with it. And so one thing led to the next...

 

Farblicher Ideengeber war ein Moodboard, das es Anfang Juli als Wochenend-Aufgabe in der Create a Smile FB Gruppe gab. Damals hatte ich keine Zeit, eine Karte danach zu machen, aber die Farben fand ich klasse. Und so habe ich das hier nachgeholt.

Der Himmel ist auf weißen Cardstock gewischt. Erst habe ich mit Distress Ink Picked Raspberry und Seedless Preserves  das Meer aufgewischt. Dabei habe ich einen leicht geschwungenen Stencil immer etwas versetzt aufgelegt.

Den Himmel darüber habe ich dann mit Distress Oxide Dried Marigold, Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry und Villainous Potion gewischt.  

Auf die Wasserlinie habe ich dann das Segelschiff aus dem Set Ahoy Matey von LawnFawn aufgestempelt und einfach mit einem schwarzen Copic ausgefüllt. Außerdem habe ich drei Vögel aus dem Party like a Pirate Set von MFT aufgestempelt.

Rechts und links an die Kanten des Cardstocks habe ich dann noch je eine Palme, gemacht aus schwarzem Cardstock mit einer Stanze von MFT,  aufgeklebt.

 

The colors are based on a moodboard, that was the theme of a weekend challenge in the Create a Smile FB group beginning of july.  Back then I didn't have time to make a card but I really liked the colors/pictures and used them here.

The sky is created on white cardstock. First I used Ditress Ink Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves to create the ocean. I used a slightly curved stencil for it, moving it a bit between the layers.

 The sky above it I made with Distress Oxide Dried Marigold, Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry and Villainous Potion. 

I stamped the boat from Ahoy Matey by LawnFawn onto the water line, then simply filled it in with a black Copic. I also stamped three flying birds from Party like a Pirate by MFT onto the sky.

Along the left and right edge of the card I placed a palm tree, cut from black cardstock using a die by MFT. 

 

 Das Fass habe ich dreimal aus hellbraunem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Distress Ink Ground Espresso schattiert. Die metallenen Reifen habe ich aus matt-goldenem Metallic-Cardstock gemacht.

Die Goldmünzen, die in Haufen in und zwischen den Fässern liegen, sowie die kleinen einzelnen Münzen sind aus dem Inquisitive Pirate Set von WaffleFlower. Ich habe sie aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt, mit Copics coloriert und, damit sie schön glänzen, mit Glossy Accents überzogen. Außerdem habe ich ein paar Perlenketten aus dem Inquisitive Pirates Set sowie dem Treasure Chest Set von Create a Smile aus cremefarbenem Perlmutt-Cardstock gestanzt.

Der Sand, den ich als Boden zwischen den und vor die Fässer gesetzt habe, ist aus craftfarbenem Cardstock gestanzt. Dafür habe ich das Winter Landscape Set  von Create a Smile benutzt und Ground Espresso sowie weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. Außerdem habe ich den Cardstock leicht mit Distress Ink Vintage Photo gewischt.

 

I die cut the barrel three times from light brown cardstock and shaded it with Distress Ink Ground Espresso. The metall pieces I cut from matte gold metallic cardstock.

The gold coins, that pile up in and between the barrels, and also the small individual coins are from Inquisitive Pirate by WaffleFlower. I cut them from white cardstock, colored them with Copics and, to make them nice and shiny, covered them with Glossy Accents. I also added some pearl necklaces from Inquisitive Pirates and the Treasure Chest set by Create a Smile, cutting them from cream colored pearlescent cardstock.

The sand, that I put beween and in front of the barrels, is cut from kraft colored cardstock. I used the Winter Landscape set by Create a Smile, then added fine splatters of Ground Espresso and white acrylic paint. I also shaded the cardstock with some Distress Ink Vintage Photo. 

 

 Irgendwie war mir die Karte noch zu fad. Also habe ich den Papagei und einen der Pirate aus Party like a Pirate von MFT coloriert. Beim Piraten war ich mir bis zum Schluss nicht sicher, ob ich ihn aufkleben wollte, da er aber schon coloriert war, habe ich es doch getan. Er steht hinter den Fässern.

Der Papagei sitzt auf dem Münzenhaufen des rechten Fasses. Und ganz zum Schluss habe ich ihm auch noch die Schatzkarte aus Ahoy Matey von LawnFawn in den Schnabel gegeben. 

Über den beiden Figuren habe ich Sprechblasen aus All the Speechbubbles von LawnFawn geklebt. In die habe ich dann noch Texte aus dem Set Alle Mann an Bord von Create a Smile gestempelt.

 

The card looked a bit plain still. So I colored the parrot and one of the pirates from Party like a Pirate by MFT.  Until the very end I wasn't sure if I wanted to add the pirate, but since it was all colored up, I glued him on. He's standing behind those barrels.

The parrot is sitting on the pile of coins of the barrel on the very right. And almost as a last minute decision I also gave him the treasure map from Ahoy Matey by LawnFawn in the beak.

I added two speechbubbles from All the Speechbubbles by LawnFawn above the two creatures heads. I stamped texts from Alle Mann an Bord by Create a Smile into them, the one above the parrot is self explanatory, the one above the pirate says "hey landlubber".

 

 Hier könnt Ihr die Fässer, Goldmünzen und Ketten nochmal besser sehen.

Quer über die Fässer habe ich dann noch einen weiteren Text aus Ahoy Matey gesetzt. Ich weiß, dadurch habe ich sowohl deutsche als auch englische Texte auf der Karte, aber der Mix stört mich nicht.

I added another text from Ahoy Matey, glueing it across the barrels. I know, that means I have both german and english texts on the same card, but I don't mind the mix.

 

 Die Fässer sind mit 3D Tape aufeinander und dann, genauso wie die Sprechblasen und natürlich der Sand, ebenfalls mit 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt. Auf weitere Deko habe ich dann verzichtet. Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I used foam tape to glue the barrels together, then used more foam tape to adhere them and also the speechbubbles and, of course, the sand, to the background. Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

 

LawnFawnatics Challenge #201

 

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Bis jetzt habe ich mich "christmas in july" ganz gut entzogen. Aber jetzt ist das auch das Thema für die 201. LawnFawnatics Challenge und so habe ich jetzt, fast am Ende des Monats, doch noch meine erste Weihnachtskarte des Jahres gemacht. Naja, die Temperaturen momentan lassen eher an Winter als Sommer denken, von daher passt das. Und als ich vor ein paar Tagen abends mit Kollegen beim Essen war, habe ich sogar einen Glühwein getrunken. Mir schmeckt Aperol nur, wenn das Wetter dazu passt. Also sagte ich zu einer Kollegin, ich würde bei dem Wetter eher einen Glühwein als Aperol trinken. Naja, der stand dann sogar auf der Karte und war sogar auf Lager. Und ehe ich es mich versah, hatte die Kollegin mir ein Tasse bestellt... Na dann Prost! ;) Aber lecker war er!

 

Hello everyone!

I didn't join the christmas in july club - until now. Because it's the theme for the LawnFawnatics Challenge #201 and so, nearly at the end of the month, I made my first christmas card of the year. Well, the temperatures make me think more winter than summer, so it wasn't that hard. And when I was at diner with some coworker a few days ago I even had my first cup of mulled wine. I really only like Aperol when the weather is warm and sunny. So I said to one of my friends I would rather drink some mulled wine than Aperol and she found it on the menu. They even had it stocked. And before I could protest she had ordered me a cup... Cheers! But it was very yummy!

 

So, nun aber mal zurück zur Karte!

Ich hatte die Capybaras aus dem letzten Release von gar nicht eingeweiht, da wurde es aber Zeit! Bis jetzt war der Capybara-Hype ja total an mir vorbeigegangen. Bin ich da die einzige? Süß finde ich die Stempel aber, und das war dann auch der Grund, warum sie bei mir einziehen durften. Und so feiern die Capybaras auf meiner Karte ihr erste Weihnachtsfest.

Für den Hintergrund/Rahmen  habe ich einige Backdrop Stanzen kombiniert: ganz hinten der Riverside Backdrop Portrait, den ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt habe. Den Himmel habe ich mit blauem Cardstock, den ich ein wenig mit Distress Ink Stormy Sky gewischt habe, hinterlegt. 

Als nächstes habe ich den Spooky Forest Backdrop aus braunem Cardstock gestanzt und das Gras am unteren  Ende weggeschnitten. Ich habe die Bäume leicht mit Copics schattiert und dann mit Polychromos Rindendetails aufgemalt. 

Und dann habe ich noch den Snow Flurries Backdrop aus Vellum gestanzt und an der unteren Kante ebenfalls die Schneeflocken weggeschnitten.  

Als Abschluss habe ich zuletzt einen der Stitched Rectangle Frames aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt, so dass die Karte einen sauberen Abschluss hat und auch der Kleber, den man durch das Vellum hindurch sieht, verdeckt ist.

 

But now back to my card! 

I hadn't used the Capybaras from the last release yet, so it was about time! I totally missed that Capybaras were/are a thing. Am I the only one? But I really liked those stamp images and that's why I ordered the sets. And now they are celebrating their first christmas on this card.

For the background/frame I combined some backdrop dies: the first layer is made with the Riverside Backdrop Portrait die, that I cut from white cardstock. I put some blue cardstock, that I shaded with Distress Ink Stormy Sky, behind the sky.

Next I cut the Spooky Forest Backdrop from brown cardstock and cut off the grass and hill at the bottom. I lightly shaded the trees with Copics and used Polychromos to draw some bark details onto the trees.

And then I cut the Snow Flurries Backdrop from vellum and again cut the snowflakes along the bottom edge off of it.

To have a clean top layer and also to hide the glue, that's visible through the vellum, I cut one of the Stitched Rectangle Frames from white cardstock.

 

 In der Mitte meiner Karte haben sich die Capybaras auf dem zugefrorenen Fluss versammelt, um gemeinsa Weihnachten zu feiern. 

 Ich habe die Hügel des Riverside Backdrops ein wenig mit Copics blau schattiert. Um den zugforenen Fluss zu gestalten, habe ich hinter den ausgestanzten Fluss Vellum geklebt. Dann habe ich das weiße, ausgestanzte Teil hinter das Vellum gesetzt. Auch das habe ich ein wenig hellblau schattiert und außerdem an die Stellen, auf denen sich später die Motive befinden, mit hellen Tönen Spiegelungen aufgemalt. Ganz rudimentär und ohne genaue Form. Aber so wirkt die Eisfläche realistischer.

Die Capybaras sind aus den Sets Capybaras und Capybaras Add-On. Ich habe ihnen kleine Nikolausmützen aus Critters in the Desert aufgesetzt, eines der Capybaras hat eine Zuckerstange im Mund. Die ist genauso wie der Weihnachtsbaum und die Geschenke, auf denen eines der Capybaras doch glatt ein Schläfchen hält, aus dem Set Christmas Dreams.

Ich habe alle Motive mit Copics coloriert und per Hand ausgeschnitten.

Die Kugeln am Christbaum habe ich mit Glossy Accents überzogen und außerdem Lichterketten mit einem Glitter-Gelstift aufgemalt. Mit dem selben Gelstift habe ich auch ein Streifenmuster auf die Geschenke gemalt.

 

In the center of my scene some capybaras met on the frozen river to celebrate christmas together.

I used Copics to shade the hills of the Riverside Backdrop a light blue. To create the frozen river I put some vellum behind the cut out river, then put the cut out white cardstock piece behind it. I shaded that a light blue also and dabbed some of the light tones, that I used to color the images, onto the areas that I wanted to place the images later. You don't have to draw any shapes, just dab on some color. This makes the ice look a lot more realistic. 

The capybaras are from Capybaras and Capybaras Add-On. I gave them little christmas hats from Christmas in the Desert, one of the capybaras is having a candy cane in his mouth. This and the christmas tree and the presents, on which one of the capybaras lay down to take a nap, are from Christmas Dreams.

I colored all images with Copics and cut them out with my scissors.

I covered the baubles in the christmas tree with Glossy Accents and also used a glitter gel pen to add some string of lights to it. With the same gel pen I also added stripes to the wrapping paper of the presents.

 

 Im oberen Bereich der Karte habe ich auf den Hintergrund zwei Bäume aufgeklebt. Die sind aus dem Set Riverside Backdrop Landscape und aus dunkelbraunem Cardstock gestanzt. Auf diese Bäume sowie die Zweige der Äste des Spooky Forest Backdrops habe ich weiße Paste als Schnee aufgetragen. 

Vor einem der Bäume steht noch ein kleiner Schneemann aus Frosty Family Add-On. 

Und in die Zweige der großen Bäume links und rechts der Szene habe ich Lichterketten aufgehängt. Dafür habe ich einfach die Lichterkette aus dem Build-a-Birdhouse Christmas Add-On Set verwendet, die von der Form her schon fast perfekt war. Die Glühbirnen habe ich erst mit dem Glitter-Gelstift beglittert und dann ebenfalls mit Glossy Accents überzogen. 

 

In the upper area of my card I adhered two trees to the background. Those are from Riverside Backdrop Landscape and die cut from dark brown cardstock. I applied some white paste to these trees and also the branches of the Spooky Forest Tree to create the look of snow on those trees.

In front of one of the trees there's a snowman from Frosty Family Add-On.

I've woven some string of lights into the branches of those large trees on the right and left side. I simply used the Build-a-Birdhouse Christmas Add-On because the lights in this set are nearly perfect in shape. I first covered the light bulbs with the glitter gel pen and then put a layer of Glossy Accents on top.

 

Meine Karte brauchte noch einen Text. In den Capybaras finden sich einige Wortspiele, die sich natürlich absolut anbieten. Ich habe ein kleines "capy" mittig auf ein Schild aus Berry Special gestempelt und dann darüber und darunter die Worte "happy holidays" aus Frosty Family Add-On aufgestempelt.  Das "happy" habe ich dann mit einem schwarzen Fineliner durchgestrichen. Das Schild habe ich dann hinter eines der Capybaras am Flussufer in den Schnee gesteckt.

Den eigentlichen Text  habe ich ganz unten weiß auf das Vellum embosst. Das war ein wenig riskant, denn die Karte war eigentlich schon komplett fertig und zusamengesetzt. Zum Glück ist alles gut gegangen. Aber am unteren Rand war einfach zu viel freie Fläche. Die Stempel für den Text sind aus den Sets Holiday Helpers und Snow Bunnies. 

 

My card needed a text. There are quite a few puns in the Capybara sets. I stamped a small "capy" in the center of a sign from Berry Special. Then I stamped "happy holidays" from Frosty Family above and under it. I used a black fineliner to cross out the "happy". Then I tucked the sign behind one of the capybaras, as if it's standing along the riverside.

The main text I white heat embossed onto the vellum, right along the bottom edge of the scene. That was really risky because I did that as the very last step, when the whole card was put togther and and all  done. Luckily nothing went wrong. And there was just too much plain vellum there. The stamps for the text are from Holiday Helpers and Snow Bunnies.

 

 Die Landschaft und alle Motive darauf sind direkt aufeinander geklebt, nur die Rahmen außenrum habe ich jeweils mit 3D Tape hinterlegt. 

Ich habe über alles weiße Acrylfarbe gespritzt, damit es schön schneit, und dann alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling befestigt.

 

The background and all the images on it are glued directly together with liquid glue, the frames around it I backed with foam tape.

I splattered white acrylic paint as snowflakes over the scene and then adhered the card panel to a white note card.

 

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Juli 2025 die Zweite

Gestern habe ich es ja bereits angekündt - heute habe ich eine weitere Karte, die ich für die Simon Says Stamp IG Challenge diesen Monat gemacht habe, für Euch. Und ja, vom Prinzip ist sie der gestrigen ähnlich. Aber ich konnte mich einfach nicht für ein Motiv entscheiden, denn ich mochte beide Ideen.

I already announced it yesterday - I have another card, made for the Simon Says Stamp IG challenge of this month, to share with you. And yes, the overall idea is pretty similar to the one on the card I shared yesterday.  But I just wasn't able to decide, which image to use, I liked both ideas.

 

Auch hier kam wieder gepunktetes Designpapier zum Einsatz - klar, lag ja noch auf dem Tisch. Als Abwechslung habe ich hier aber noch einige Papiere mit Sternenmuster mitbenutzt. 

Als Motiv kam hier der große Kürbishintergrund aus Pumpkin to Talk About von SimonSaysStamps zum Einsatz. Kürbisse gehen bei mir immer, wohl im Bastelzimmer als auch in der Küche. Und ich fand die Idee, vieler Kürbisse in vielleicht nicht ganz so üblichen Farben, auf einer Karte zu haben, sehr verlockend. 

 Ich habe den Hintergrund auf Designpapier in verschiedenen Farben gestempelt und dann die Kürbisse mit Copics schattiert. Die Stiele der Kürbisse habe ich auf normalen weißen Cardstock gestempelt und coloriert.  Für die Highlights kam hier dann mal ein weißer Polychromo zum Einsatz, der ist etwas sanfter, und nur an einigen wenigen Stellen habe ich zusätzlich noch Linien mit einem weißen Gelstift aufgemalt. 

Anschließend habe ich die einzelnen Kürbisse mit der Schere wieder englang der Stempellinien ausgeschnitten und den Hintergrund aus den verschieden farbigen Kürbissen wieder zusammengesetzt. 

 

Again I used dotted patterned papers here - sure, I still had it left on my table. For a little change I also used some papers with a star pattern for a few of the pumpkins.

I used the large pumpkin background from Pumpkin to Talk About by SimonSaysStamp here. I am never tired of pumpkins, no matter if it's in my craft room or my kitchen. And I really liked the idea of having a bunch of pumpkins in not so usual colors on one card.

 I stamped the background image onto different colors of patterned paper and shaded them with Copics. The stems I stamped onto plain white cardstock and colored them with Copics. For the highlights I used a white Polychromo here, it just gives a softer look, and added some lines with a white gel pen just in a few spots.

Then I cut out each pumpkin with my scissors, cutting right along the stamped lines, and put the image back together, using the different colored pumpkins.

 

 Der Text auf meiner Karte ist aus dem selben Stempelset, wie auch das Motiv. Ich fand den hier äußerst passend, denn so bunte Kürbisse sorgen garantiert für Gesprächsstoff. Aber natürlich ist der Text hier ein Wortspiel mit "something" statt "pumpkin". 

Ich habe den Text mit weißem Embossingpulver auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst und dann einen kleinen Kreisstanzer verwendet, um die Ecke wegzustanzen. So entsteht eine Art Ticket-Look . Den schwarzen Cardstock habe ich dann weiß gemattet und einen Rahmen mit einem goldenen Gelstift aufgemalt.

 

The text on my card is from the same stamp set as the image. I just love this pun - and such colorful pumpkins for sure give people something to talk about.

I white heat embossed the text onto black cardstock and used a small circle punch to cut off the edges and create some kind of ticket/label. I matted that white and drew a frame with a gold gel pen.

 

 Den Text habe ich mit 3D Tape oben auf den Kürbishintergrund geklebt und einige goldene Perlen als Deko drumherum verteilt. 

Dann habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I adhered the text with foam tape onto the pumpkin background and added some gold pearls around it as decoration.

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

 

Simon Says Stamps IG Challenge im Juli 2025

Diesen Monat bin ich mit meinen Challenge-Beiträgen irgendwie recht spät dran. Aber auch für die Simon Says Stamps IG Challenge habe ich einen Beitrag geschafft - eigentlich sogar zwei, denn ich konnte mich mal wieder nicht für ein Motiv/eine Idee entschieden. Diese zweite Karte zeige ich Euch dann morgen.

This month I am pretty late with my entries for the challenge I join regularly. But I made a card for the Simon Says Stamp IG challenge, also. Well, actually I made two because once again I couldn't decide, which image/idea I wanted to make. This second card I am going to share with you tomorrow.

 

Das Thema im Juli ist "patterned paper". Vor einigen Jahren gab es bei mir keine Karte, auf der nicht mehrere verschiedene Designpapiere zum Einsatz kamen. Inzwischen nutze ich es tatsächlich nur noch selten. Genug davon habe ich natürlich immer noch in meinen Schränken. Auf dieser Karte kamen verschiedene gepunktete Designpapiere zum Einsatz.

Für den Hintergrund habe ich hier den großen Hintergrundstempel aus dem Set Just Write von Simon Says Stamp auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt und nur die Holzteile der Stifte mit Copics coloriert. Die habe ich dann abgedeckt und mit hellblauer Tinte den Best Friend Background von MFT auf den kompletten Cardstock gestempelt. 

 

The theme in july is "patterned paper". A few years ago I did't make a single card using not at least a few different patterned papers on it. Now I rarely use it anymore. But of course I still have more than enough in my stash. On this card I used different dotted designs.

For the background I stamped the large background image from Just Write by SimonSaysStamp onto white cardstock and colored just the wooden tips of the pencils with Copics. I masked those off and then stamped the Best Friend Background by MFT with light blue ink onto the whole background piece.

 

 Anschließend habe ich den Stifte-Hintergrund auf verschiedene Farben der gepunkteten Designpapiere gestempelt, so dass ich zum Schluss lauter Stifte in verschiedenen Farben hatte. Die Radiergummi-Enden habe ich dabei auf rosafarbenes Designpapier, die metallenen Ringe auf silbernen Schimmer-Cardstock gestempelt. 

Mit farblich passenden Copics habe ich jeden Stift - bzw. jedes Stift-Element - schattiert und dann alle Teile direkt entlang der Stempellinien ausgeschnitten. Die Stifte habe ich dann in den Hintergrund eingesetzt. 

Da, wo bei echten Stiften der Hersteller eingestanzt ist, habe ich kleine Texte aus dem Delicate Garden Stempelset von Altenew aufgestempelt - alles kleine Komplimente für einen guten Freund. Zum Aufstempeln habe ich dabei graue Tinte benutzt. Das Designpapier, das ich für die Stifte benutzt habe, wurde beim Schattieren mit Copics irgendwie etwas fleckig, so als würde sich die Farbe ein wenig ablösen. Das hat auch die Stempelabdrücke der kleinen Worte, die wirklich sehr klein und fein sind, beeinträchtigt. Aber in Stifte eingeprägte Texte sind ja auch nicht immer super klar, so dass mir das nichts ausmacht. 

 

Then I stamped the pencil background onto different  shades of dotted patterned papers to end up with a lot of pencils in different colors. I stamped the image onto pink patterned paper for the eraser ends and silver shimmer cardstock for the metallic rings/ends.

Using matching Copics I shaded each pencil/pencil element and then cut all the pieces out with my scissors, cutting right along the stamped lines. Then I paper pieced them into the background.

Onto the ends, where there is the brand etched into a real pencil, I stamped little texts from Delicate Garden by Altenew. Each text a little compliment for a good friend. I used dark grey ink to stamp the words. When I shaded the patterned papers with Copics, the papers became a bit splotchy, just like the ink got partly removed by the alcohol inks. That also affected the way those little words, that really are tiny and very delicate, stamped. But since the etching in real pencils isn't always completly crisp, too, I don't really mind it.

 

 Im oberen Bereich habe ich dann zwei Texte quer über die Karte geklebt. Die sind aus den Sets Just Write von SimonSaysStamp und Delicate Garden von Altenew und jeweils mit weißem Embossingpulver auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst.

 

On the top half of my card  I adhered two texts. They are again from Just Write by SimonSaysStamp and Delicate Garden by Altenew and white heat embossed onto black cardstock.

 

Mit einem grauen Copic-Marker habe ich Schlagschatten entlang der Stifte auf den Hintergrund gemalt.

Dann habe ich die Texte mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt und drei weiße Herzen als Deko auf der Karte verteilt.

Zum Schluss habe ich den dekorierten Cardstock auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt. 

 

 I used a grey Copics marker to draw some drop shadows next to the pencils onto the backgroud.

I adhered the text strips with thin foam tape and added three white clay hearts as decoration. Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

 

Technique Throwback Thursday Challenge im Juli

Vor einigen Tagen habe ich Euch die Karte gezeigt, die ich gemacht habe, um Reststücke für diese Karte zu haben. Denn die Verwendung von Resten ist das Thema der Technique Throwback Thursday Challenge im Juli.

A few days ago I shared with you the card I made, to have scraps for this card. Because using up scraps is the theme of the Technique Throwback Thursday challenge of july.

 

Meine Reststücke waren Strahlen in verschiedenen Türkistönen, die ich mit den Scallop Stripes von MFT bestempelt hatte. Diese Strahlen habe ich hier aneinander geklebt. Damit sich kein "Strahlenlook" ergibt, habe ich jeden zweiten Strahl umgedreht. So ergaben sich nicht nur einigermaßen gerade Kanten, sondern es ist aus nur jeder zweite Strahl mit dem Muster bestempelt. 

Auf den so entstandenen Hintergrund habe ich dann weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

Aus schwarzem Cardstock habe ich dann eines der Stained Glass Windows von WhimsyStamps gestanzt. Damit möglichst viel vom Hintergrund sichtbar ist, habe ich das Fenster per Partial Diecutting etwas verlängert. Für meine Karte habe ich dann das Negativ benutzt.

 

My scraps were leftover rays in different shades of aqua, that I had stamped the Scallop Stripes by MFT onto. I glued those rays next to each other here. And to avoid a "rays look" I turned every other ray onto the face. This way I ended up with quite straight edges and every other strip is plain now.

I splattered white acrylic paint onto my background.

 I cut one of the Stained Glass Windows by WhimsyStamps from black cardstock. To show as much as possible of the background I did some partial diecutting to make the window taller. For my card I used the negative.

 

 Von anderen Karten hatte ich noch diverse gelbe Designpapiere mit weißen Punkten auf dem Tisch. Aus zwei verschiedenen Papieren habe ich den Mond aus Over the Moon von MFT sowie kleine Sterne aus dem Array of Rainbows Set von WhimsyStamps gestanzt. Außerdem habe ich aus weißem Cardstock die große Wolke aus End of the Rainbow von MFT gestanzt.

Den Mond habe ich mit Distress Ink Wild Honey ein wenig schattiert. 

Und auch der Text auf der Karte ist von MFT, nämlich aus dem Set Space Explorer. Ich habe ihn mit weißem Embossingpulver auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst und dann zugeschnitten. Dabei habe ich das Wort Moon herausgeschnitten und die Textstücke dann so auf die Karte geklebt, dass das Wort Moon im Text durch den ausgestanzten Mond ersetzt wird.

 

I had different yellow patterned papers, all with white dots, left on my table from other cards I made. From two different papers I cut the moon from Over the Moon by MFT and small stars from Array of Rainbows by WhimsyStamps. I also cut the large cloud from End of the Rainbow by MFT from white cardstock.

I used Distress Ink Wild Honey to shade the moon.

Also the text on this card is by MFT, from the Space Explorer set. I white heat embossed it onto black cardstock and cut it out. I cut off the word "moon" in the text and then adhered the text pieces so that the die cut moon works as the word  "moon". 

 

 Den Rahmen und einige der Sterne habe ich mit dünnem, den Mond samt Wolke mit dickem 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt.

Mit einem weißen Gelstift habe ich das Fenster im schwarzen Cardstock umrandet und dann als Deko einige Glitzersteine sowie zwei weiße Herzen auf die Karte geklebt. Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling befestigt.

 

I used thin foam tape behind the frame and some of the stars, thick tape behind the moon and cloud. 

I drew a frame around the window in the black cardstock using a white gel pen and added some rhinestones and two white clay hearts as decoration. Then I mounted the card panel onto a white note card.

Heute habe ich eine Geburtstagskarte direkt aus der Natur für Euch, gemacht mit Stanzen, Stencils und Stempeln von WaffleFlower.

Today I have a birthday card for you, made with dies, stencils and stamps by WaffleFlower.

 

 Von WaffleFlower gab es im Juli-Release einen Holzmuster-Stencil mit passender Stanze. Und da mich die an die Rinde eines Baumes erinnert, wollte ich eine Karte machen, bei der es so aussieht, als hätte jemand den Text in den Baum geritzt.

Den Hintergrund habe ich mit einem Stück weißen Cardstocks gestartet, in den ich den Woodgrain Texture gestanzt habe. Die Stanze stanzt das Muster ins Papier, schneidet aber die äußeren Kanten nicht. So was liebe ich, weil die Stanzen so viel vielseitiger einsetzbar sind. 

Anschließend habe ich die dazu passenden Woodgrain Stencils auf den Cardstock gelegt und das Rindenmuster mit Distress Ink Pumice Stone und Scorched Timber aufgewischt. Beide Farben habe ich jeweils einmal hell und einmal kräftiger aufgetragen, so ist das Muster nicht zu fad und trotzdem Ton in Ton.

Mit einem weißen Gelstift habe ich einige Linien entlang der Stanzlinien hervorgehoben und später noch weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

 

In their july release WaffleFlower had a woodgrain stencil and die. And since it reminded me of the bark of a tree I wanted to make a card, where someone seemed to have carved the birthday greeting into a tree. 

I started my background with white cardstock and cut the Woodgrain Texture into it. The die cuts the pattern but no edges around the pattern. I love this because it makes this die so much more versatile. 

I used the matching Woodgrain stencil set to add the colored stripes to the cardstock using Distress Ink Pumice Stone and Scorched Timber. I applied each color light and dark to have a quite obvious pattern but still keep it tone in tone.

I highlighted a few of the cut lines with a white gel pen and later splattered white acrylic paint onto the cardstock.

 

 Mit der Happy Birthday Script Stanze habe ich dann den Text in den Cardstock gestanzt und die kleinen Zwischenstücke des Musters aufgehoben. Da das Holzmuster beim Stanzen des Textes etwas plattgedrückt wurde, habe ich anschließend die Woodgrain Texture Stanze nochmal aufgelegt und erneut durch die Big Shot gekurbelt.

Mit dünnem 3D Tape habe ich dann hellbraunen Cardstock hinter das ausgestanzte Wort geklebt, so als würde man hier das Innere des Baumes sehen. Da der Cardstock so komplett einfarbig irgendwie komisch aussah, habe ich mit hellen Copics den Text nochmal nachgemalt. Das ist nicht perfekt geworden, aber beim Ritzen in einen Baum hat man ja auch nicht überall die selbe Tiefe. Anschließend habe ich auch die kleinen Stücke in und zwischen den Buchstaben wieder aufgeklebt.

Über dem Text habe ich einen Schmetterling angebracht. Der ist aus hellrosa farbenem Cardstock mit dem kleinsten der Schmetterlinge aus dem Set Butterfly Blossom gemacht und mit Copics schattiert habe. 

Als Textergänzung habe ich dann noch ein "have an amazing day" aus dem Set Inside Sentiments Birthday weiß auf ein Stück grau-braunen Cardstock embosst und unter dem eingestanzten Happy Birhtday quer über die Karte geklebt.

 

I used the Happy Birthday Script die to cut the greeting into the cardstock, keeping the little pieces that get cut from inside the letters. Since the woodgrain pattern got flattened a bit when cutting out the text I simple put the die back in place and ran the cardstock through the Big Shot again.

Using thin foam tape I applied some light brown cardstock behind the cut out word, as if you'd see the inside of a tree here. The plain, one colored cardstock looked a bith strange so I used some light brown Copics to re-draw  the text. It didn't turn out perfectly, but when carving something into a tree you never end up with the same depth in every spot, too. Then I glued those small pieces inside and between the letters back in place.

Above the text I added a little butterfly. It's cut from light pink cardstock using the smallest butterfly from Butterfly Blossom, then shaded with Copics.

As a subsentiment I white heat embossed a "have an amazing day" from Inside Sentiments Birthday onto some grey-ish brown cardstock and glued it across the background, right under the cut out "happy birthday". 

 

 Unten an den Rand der Karte habe ich zwei Blumen und einige Blätter aufgeklebt, so als würden hier Pflanzen am Baum nach oben wachsen. 

Für die Blumen habe ich die Sunflower Stanzen verwendet. Ich wollte nicht, dass die Sonneblumen so nach Sonnenblumen aussehen, und habe die obere Lage der Sonnenblumen jeweils einmal aus hellem und einmal aus mittlerem Rosa, die hintere Lage aus dunkelrosa Cardstock gestanzt. Die Blumenmitten sind aus grünem Cardstock gestanzt. Außerdem habe ich aus grünem Cardstock noch zwei Sonneblumenblätter sowie einige der kleinen Blätter aus dem Set Floral Anchor gestanzt. Dann habe ich alle Teile mit Copics schattiert und auf den Hintergrund geklebt.

 

To the bottom edge of the card I glued two flowers and a few leaves, just like those are growing climbing up the tree. 

For the flowers I used the Sunflower dies. I didn't want them to look like sunflowers so I cut the top layer of each flower once from light and once from middle pink, the bottom layer from dark pink cardstock. The flower centers I cut from green carstock. Also from green cardstock I cut two sunflower leaves and some of the small leaves from Floral Anchor. Then I shaded all the pieces with my Copics and adhered them to the background.

 

 Den Schmetterling und die große Blume habe ich mit dünnem, die kleinere Blume mit dickem 3d Tape aufgeklebt.

Als Deko habe ich noch drei braune Herzen auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I adhered the butterfly and the larger flower with thin, the smaller flower with thick foam tape.

I added three brown clay hearts as decoration, then mounted the card panel to a white note card.

 

Summer Vibes

Im Video von Jennifer McGuire, das Aufgabe der Technique Throwback Thursday Challenge im Juli ist, geht es um Resteverwertung. 

Nun, ich bin nicht der Typ, der wirklich Reste aufhebt. Cardstock- oder Designpapierstücke in einer gewissen Größe kommen bei mir natürlich nicht in den Müll. Aber zu kleine Stücke oder auch Reste von gestalteten Hintergründen hebe ich nicht auf. Also wollte ich für meine Karte für die Challenge kleine Stücke herstellen. Aber irgendwie fühlte sich das wie Betrug an. Also habe ich diese Karte gemacht und dann mit den dabei übriggebliebenen Strahlen eine weitere Karte gebastelt. Die zeige ich Euch dann demnächst.

In the video by Jennifer McGuire, that's theme of the july Technique Throwback Thursday Challenge, she's talking about using scraps creatively.

Well, I am not one who keeps scraps. Decent sized cardstock or patterened paper pieces I sure put back into my stash. But pieces too small or also left overs from stamped backgrounds I put in thte trash. So I wanted to make small pieces to use on my card. But that felt like cheating. So I made this card and then used the left over rays my card for the challenge. I will show you that in a few days.

 

Ich habe hier Cardstock in verschiedenen Türkistönen herausgesucht und dann in farblich passender, etwas dunklerer Tinte jeweils die Scallop Stripes von MFT aufgestempelt. Anschließend habe ich aus jedem Stück die Sfondo Raggi von Impronte d'Autore ausgestanzt. Dabei habe ich versucht, das Muster fortlaufend zu stempeln, was mir ganz gut gelungen ist.

Ich habe dann einige der kompletten Stanzteile aufeinander geklebt, um diese Strahlen zu erhöhen, und dann in die Zwischenräume andersfarbige Strahlen geklebt.  Anschließend habe ich alles etwas kleiner geschhnitten.  

 

I picked different shades of turquoise cardstock and stamped the Scallop Stripes by MFT onto each, picking a matching ink, that's just a bit darker. Then I die cut the Sfondo Raggi by Improne d'Autore from each cardstock piece, trying to get the pattern in the same spot each time. I guess I managed that pretty well.

I stacked a few of the whole cardstock frames, to make those rays higher, and glued rays in different colors in between those raised rays. Then I cut the whole background smaller.

 

 Am unteren Ende meines Hintergrunds habe ich Sonnenschirme und eine Möwe aufgeklebt.

Die Sonnenschirme sind eigentlich Regenschirme von PoppyStamps, nämlich die Stitched Umbrellas. Aber wenn man den gebogenen Griff wegschneidet, geht er auch super als Sonnenschirm durch.

Ich habe die kompletten Schirme einige Male aus silbernem Schimmer-Cardstock gestanzt und die oberen Teile zudem einige Male aus weißem Cardstock sowie verschiedenen gelb-weißen Designpapieren. Teilweise habe ich aus den Designpapierstücken dann Teile herausgeschnitten und sie erst auf weiße Schirmteile und dann auf die silbernen Teile geklebt. Außerdem habe ich die Schirme ein wenig mit Copics schattiert.

Die Möwe ist aus dem Set Oh  Buoy von Spellbinders. Ich habe sie aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und ebenfalls mit Copics coloriert. Nach dem Zusammensetzen der Schirme habe ich die Möwe oben auf einen der Schirme gesetzt. Uns ist das vor kurzem tatsächlich in Italien am Strand passiert. Und die Möwe, die es sich auf unserem Schirm gemütlich gemacht hatte, ließ sich auch durch nichts stören.

 

Along the bottom of my background I glued some umbrellas and a seagull. 

The umbrellas are made using the Stitched Umbrellas by PoppyStamps. I cut off the handle to make them look like those that you can find at the beach. 

I cut the whole umbrella several times from silver shimmer cardstock and the top pieces several times from white cardstock and different patterned papers in white and yellow. From some of the yellow pieces  I cut out pieces and then glued them onto the white umbrella tops. Then I attached each to a silver umbrella and added some shading with Copics.

The seagull is from Oh Buoy by Spellbinders. I cut it from white cardstock and used Copics again to color it. After arranging the umbrellas I placed the seagull on top of one of them. That actually happened to us recently at a beach in Italy. And the seagull, that sat on our umbrella, sat there quite long, not caring about all the people around her.

 

 Oben auf der Karte habe ich dann den Text aufgeklebt. Er besteht einfach aus der Summer Vibes Stanze von Create a Smile. Die Schattenlage ist aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt, das Wort selbst aus gelbem Designpapier mit kleinen weißen Punkten. Aus dem habe ich dann auch noch einen Sonne aus dem Weather Set, ebenfalls von Create a Smile, ausgestanzt und beides mit Copics schattiert.

Das Wort aus Designpapier habe ich mit einigen weißen Stanzteilen hinterlegt und dann, mit der Sonne dahinter, oben auf den Hintergrund geklebt.

 

To the top of the card I attached the text. It's just the Summer Vibes by Create a Smile. I cut the shadow layer from white cardstock, the word itself from yellow patterned paper with small white dots. From the same patterned paper I also cut the sun from the Weather die set, again by Create a Smile, then shaded both with Copics.

I stacked some words, cut from white cardstock, and glued the yellow one on top, then adhered it and the sun to the top of my background.

 

 Ich habe alle Elemente mit 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt und als Deko im unteren Bereich einige weiße Herzen, oben rund um den Text ein paar goldene Perlen aufgeklebt.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt - der breitere weiße Rand ist hier Absicht und ehrlich gesagt durch die Größe der Stanze entstanden. Da ich den Hintergrund in der Breite kürzen musste, wäre nur oben und unten der gestitchte Rahmen stehengeblieben, und das hat mir nicht gefallen. Also habe ich einfach mehr weggeschnitten.

 

I used foam tape to adhere all the elements to the background, then added some white clay hearts as decoration to the bottom of the card and some gold pearls around the text.  

In the end I glued the card panel onto a white note card - the wider white frame was made on purpose, honestly because of the size of the rays die. Because of it's size I had to cut the sides of the background and doing it the usual size I would have ended with a stitched frame only at the top and bottom. I didn't like that so I simply cut off more all around the panel.
